Crust:
Ingredients:
- 1 cup flour
- 1/2 cup soft margarine
- 2 tbsp water
Mix together flour and margarine until well blended. Add water. Divide dough into 2 parts. Pat into 2 strips 12" x 3" on a large cookie sheet.
Puff:
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup margarine
- 1 cup water
- 1 tsp almond flavouring
- 1 cup flour
- 3 eggs
Directions:
Place margarine and water in a skillet and bring to a rolling boil.
Remove from heat; quickly stir in almond flavouring and flour. Place back on low heat and stir vigorously until mixture forms a ball (about 1 minute.)
Remove from heat; add eggs and beat with beater until well blended. Divide into 2 parts and spread over bottom layer. Bake for 1 hour at 350 degrees.
Icing:
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 icing sugar
- 1/4 cup soft butter
- 1 1/2 tsp almond flavouring
- 1-2 tbsp warm water
Frost with the following. Sprinkle with almonds or nuts.
